Double Sided Printing

TechnoRiverStudio 7.2 lets you design the front and back of a label as separate documents and merge them into a single print job.

With the File>Print Double Sided command, you can designate one document as the front design and the other as the back design. When printed on duplex printers, these designs will appear on different sides of the same page / label.

Processing Drop Files From Command Line

Users may now use the the command line to process a drop file. A drop file (*.dft) is a scripted command file that contains instructions for printing. Previously, drop files are used only in TechnoRiverStudio Integration.

What's new in TechnoRiverStudio 7.0

Ribbon Interface

This version of TechnoRiverStudio features a completely new look and feel.

The user interface has been modernized, and the menus and toolbars are now replaced by the new Ribbon and Quick Access Bar. Many existing UI elements such as color pickers have been updated.

The Ribbon UI is available in all editions of TechnoRiverStudio - Professional, Standard, Print and Community.

Enhanced Print Preview

The Print Preview now supports Multiple Page Viewing and Page Selection.

What's new in TechnoRiverStudio 6.75

MS ACCESS 2007 .ACCDB Format

The new file format for Microsoft Access 2007 / 2010, .ACCDB is now supported in TechnoRiverStudio.

Application Identifiers Updated

The Application Identifiers for the GS1-128 / UCCEAN Barcode has been updated to follow the latest GS1 Specifications.

Some of the Application Identifiers (AIs) missing from the previous version include 242 Made-To-Order Variation, 253 Global Document Type Identifier, 254 GLN Extension Component, and 8110 Coupon Code Identification.

The GS1 DataMatrix and DUN-14 (Distribution Unit Number) are new items that are added to the Tool Panel.

What's new in TechnoRiverStudio 6.5

Support for Multi-Line cells when working with MS Excel

Some Excel cells may contain multiple lines. This is entered using the [ALT]+[ENTER] key in Excel. TechnoRiverStudio 6.5 supports the mapping of these multi-line cells from Excel to a simple text box, such that each line in the cell correspond to a different line in the text box.

Date and Time Formatting Functions for Database

With these functions, you can read a date from a database in the form 9/12/10 and reformats it to display, say, 12 September 2010.

New Text Handling Functions

These are accessible when reading database fields in text or barcode objects.

Discard_Left - Discard a few characters on the left side of the string.
Discard_Right - Discard a few characters on the right side of the string.
Discard_Middle - Discard a few characters on the middle part of the string

For example, Discard_Left("Ruler",3) will give the result "er".


RotateChar_Left - Rotate the characters of the string to the left.
RotateChar_Right - Rotate the characters of the string to the right.

For example, RotateChar_Left("Ruler",2) will give the result "lerRu".

What's new in TechnoRiverStudio 6.0

Improved UCC/EAN (GS1-128) implementation

UCC/EAN 128 is an important barcode used in many trade and logistics applications. TechnoRiverStudio 6.0 adds a new "Strict GS1 128" option to this barcode for logistics labels that require the strict formatting. For more details, please refer to the Important Requirements page.

When used in database, UCC/EAN 128 (GS1-128) data with multiple application identifiers can now be easily concatenated into a single string with the "Insert FNC1 between multiple AIs as a separator automatically" option. This mean you can enter something like (11)123456(12)123456 in a database field and TechnoRiverStudio will automatically convert it into a format suitable for the barcode.
