What's new in TechnoRiverStudio 5.0?
Optical Character Recognition
Text Object
The Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Text Object lets you create text strings that can be read by OCR scanners and softwares with great accuarcy. It makes use of special fonts to create these characters. TechnoRiverStudio currently supports the OCR-A and OCR-B character sets, both based on the ANSI standard. Each character set comes in 3 different sizes, and are used by typewriters, printers, cash registers and credit card printers.
Each OCR character set (e.g some characters in OCR-A I are used in Euro banking) contains its own special characters. TechnoRiverStudio supports these through a symbol dialog.
The OCR fonts are also incorporated into barcodes to make them look better and more standard compliant.

What's new in TechnoRiverStudio 4.5?
We are proud to announce the availability of TechnoRiverStudio Version 4.5 (formerly SmartCodeStudio).
This major upgrade introduces an advanced text object that wraps and resizes text within the bounding box to give a good fit.
AutoWrap Fitting Text
TechnoRiverStudio supports the renaming of RSS symbology to GS1 Databar and UCC/EAN 128 to GS1-128. The following barcodes are now supported.

- GS1 DataBar Stacked
- GS1 DataBar Stacked Omnidirectional

The OCR characters also integrate well with the Human Readable of the barcode. TechnoRiverStudio currently supports the OCR-A and OCR-B character sets, both based on the ANSI standard.

TechnoRiver MICR Font (v1.0) - New!
TechnoRiver MICR TrueType Font allows you to print the digits and special characters found at the bottom of a check. The font is based on the E13-B industry standard, which is used in the United States and many countries throughout the world.

Technoriver brings labeling to the next level by introducing the Autowrap Fitting Text into its barcode labeling software.
This text object allows easir handling of long text strings by breaking them down into several lines and then resizing them to fit within a bounding box. The barcodes produced in this version are also updated with the latest barcode specifications. This includes ISBN 13, the new 13-digit ISMN, GS1 DataBar-14, GS1 DataBar Limited, GS1 DataBar Stacked, GS1 DataBar Truncated and GS1-128.

SmartCodeStudio(v4.0)
This version updates the software with a MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) feature that facilitates the printing of checks using magnetic ink. A new datasource, known as Pick List, is introduced to let users define a list of items quickly as an alternative to database. Also, a few barcodes helpers are improved and the UCCEAN dialog has been extended to support custom application identifiers.
